4. Kordell Stewart

The last of the quarterbacks I’d like to highlight is none other than former Colorado Buffalo and 11-year veteran Kordell Stewart. He was most known for his days with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but Stewart also spent one year with the Bears in 2003.

In 2001, Stewart led a Steelers team which went 13-3, by far his best record as a starting quarterback. That year, Stewart was selected to the Pro Bowl by fans after throwing for over 3,100 yards and 14 touchdowns. That year, he also ran for 537 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.

After eight years with the Steelers, Stewart went on to play for the Bears in his lone season with Chicago. That year, Stewart started seven games for the Bears. It wasn’t exactly pretty, though, as he went just 2-5 as a starter.

Stewart completed just 50.2 percent of his passes for 1,418 yards, seven touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He did run for 290 yards and three touchdowns with the Bears that year, though.

Although none of these guys were franchise quarterbacks, they all had lengthy careers in football. These four guys, among others, are not to be overlooked. Collectively, they spent a total of 35 years in the NFL and over 40 years professionally if you count the CFL.

Roddy White was a very good receiver in this league for many years, but the next time he makes a statement like the one he made, he should do a little more thinking.
