NFL Draft 2020: Best pick made by each NFC North team
Chicago Bears: Jaylon Johnson, CB, Utah
Round 2, 50th Overall
The Chicago Bears did well with what they had to work with in the 2020 NFL Draft. Taking tight end Cole Kmet and cornerback Jaylon Johnson in the second round, the Bears found talented players on both sides of the ball who can come in and help them immediately. I also liked the selection of edge rusher Trevis Gipson in the fifth round.
When we are talking about the single best selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, the choice comes down to either Kmet or Johnson. Both are good players who the Bears were able to bring in at a good value, but Johnson gets the edge for me.
Johnson is a tough and physical cornerback who shines in press coverage at the line of scrimmage. He also has long arms, good speed and attacks the ball in the air well. Johnson shows a ton of natural upside in both man and zone coverage and is even a solid asset in run support.
Expect Johnson to immediately come in and compete for the starting cornerback spot across from Kyle Fuller and honestly, I fully expect him to win that job. This was a great pick by the Chicago Bears.
