The 2020 NFL Draft and free agency period is in the rear view, so we try and make an early prediction of some surprise roster cuts come fall.

What a time it has been for NFL fans. In the span of about two months, we have had the free agency frenzy, NFL Draft and now the official schedule release. I don’t know about you, but I am about as excited as a man can get to see the Chicago Bears take the field in September.

In a time like the one we’re experiencing in America, it has been nice to have meaningful football events. It may not be live sports, but these times have meant something for football fans. We have grasped them, held them tight and, if you’re like me, you’re also holding onto hope.

Over the offseason, general manager Ryan Pace has addressed some of the needs on this roster, but not all of them. So, when it comes to seeing players cut later on, there will be a handful of positions where we could be a little surprised.

I can tell you right now, one of those surprising positions is not likely to be on the offensive line. Pace did not do nearly enough to address that spot over the last couple of months.

But, he did add talent at wide receiver and in the secondary. Those are two areas we could see some cuts happen where the Bears may lose some guys whom fans thought had quite a lot of potential.

Who are those players, though? Which areas are we likely to see some surprise cuts? It’s early, but there are a few names who could be let go, and it would not just surprise us, but might even shock a few. Let’s get down to trying to predict some of those cuts.
