Weeks 5-8

Week 5: Thursday October 8th vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 7:20PM

I think this is the one everyone is marking just a little bit brighter and bolder on their calendars. The Bears get their first glimpse of Brady in a Bucs uniform. It’s at Soldier Field. It’s prime time — the first of four on the schedule. This game is a statement game for the Bears. Either they come out with a win over the greatest quarterback to every play the game — and over a pretty frightening offense — or they leave with a loss, knowing they’re not quite there yet.

I have a weird feeling about this one. Khalil Mack comes to play and the defense makes some big statements under the lights. Prediction: Win (4-1)

Week 6: Sunday October 18th @ Carolina Panthers – 12:00PM

It’s a new era in Carolina. No longer will the Bears see Cam Newton under center, but they still have to deal with who might be the best running back in football — Christian McCaffrey. The Panthers have some speed at receiver, too, so Chicago’s defense will need to stay on their game. Last year, Teddy Bridgewater beat the Bears. This season, though, it’s going to be different. Prediction: Win (5-1)

Week 7: Monday October 26th @ Los Angeles Rams – 7:15PM

Everybody remembers the game in 2018 where the Bears shut down the team which would end up winning the NFC. It was a physical, dominating performance. This time, the Rams are down a few big names and look to be heading in the wrong direction. Prediction: Win (6-1)

Week 8: Sunday November 1st vs. New Orleans Saints – 3:25PM

It’s not going to be all sunshine and rainbows for the Bears, and this game will prove it. I think the Saints are too much for Chicago in this one, and the Bears take a step back after gaining some momentum. New Orleans very well could be Super Bowl favorites in the NFC, and they prove it on this day. Prediction: Loss (6-2)
