Chicago Bears 2020 Schedule: 3 intriguing matchups
Revenge time?
Alright, this theme is a little overblown. It’s highly unlikely that there is any bad blood between Nick Foles and the Jacksonville Jaguars. For starters, they paid him an exorbitant amount of money to play four games and then worked with him to find a trade partner this offseason.
But the reality is by the end of the year, the Jaguars chose to roll with Gardner Minshew over Foles. Whatever the reason, it certainly stings as a player when you’re the odd-man-out. So while there may not be an unbridled rage burning in Foles’ belly, there has to be a certain sense of wanting to prove to your old team that you still got it.
This should serve as extra motivation for Foles, who at this time, seems to have the inside track on the starting position. On the other side, the Jags will come into this game looking like a team who has their sights set on the first pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
On top of that, this game will be played late in the season in Week 16 at which point the Jaguars should be looking forward to their offseason plans. Heck, it might even be an opportunity to rest some players if the Bears are playoff-bound and looking to head to the postseason fresh.
