3. Deshaun Watson will make his Soldier Field debut
Speaking the Houston Texans and primetime games, the Bears will get their first look at Deshaun Watson in the NFL. That’s right, whenever the Texans visit Soldier Field, the headlines will be about how the Bears passed up on Watson in favor of Mitchell Trubisky four years ago.
Bears fans have been tired of hearing the narrative. And quite frankly, it is likely that Bears general manager Ryan Pace is as well. Then there’s Trubisky, who wanted the TV’s turned off at Halas Hall halfway through last year to block out the noise.
Let’s just say Trubisky is the starter in 2020 when the Bears play the Texans if he’s ready to prove that he can be a true franchise quarterback, outdueling Watson would be the perfect stage for him to show that he’s ready to finally live up to expectations. Additionally, the Bears would also have the opportunity to quiet all the talk about passing up on Watson in favor of Trubisky.
