1. Isaiah Crowell

The first man on our list is somewhat forgotten. Isaiah Crowell was once a promising young back who looked like he could be a workhorse with the Cleveland Browns. Having spent four seasons with the Browns, he then went to the New York Jets and played one year in the Big Apple.

Last year, his lone year with the Las Vegas Raiders was spent on injured reserve after he tore his achilles in a workout. Crowell is still just 27 years old and could bring a ton of value to the Bears’ back field.

Over the five seasons he has played in the NFL, Crowell has rushed for at least 600 yards, although he has never topped the 1,000-yard mark. That is partly because he has typically ran as part of a committee, although he came fairly close in 2016 when he ran for 952 yards with Cleveland.

That same year, Crowell caught 40 passes for over 300 yards, giving himself over 1,200 total yards from scrimmage — his best season as a pro.

With the Bears, if he was healthy, Crowell could give the team a solid 5-to-10 carries per game, and could even handle an entire drive if Montgomery needed a breather.

Crowell would come as inexpensive as they come, especially considering last year he didn’t play at all. He is that typical size and has the right arsenal of capabilities you’d like in a backup running back.
