Chicago Bears: 2021 trade packages for Aaron Rodgers
Trade One
The Chicago Bears have been pretty pathetic under center for a long time. A lot of people love and miss Jay Cutler in hindsight, but he still wasn’t what he was supposed to be. He, with all of that, is still the franchise’s statistical greatest quarterback of all time. He didn’t end his career with them but he was probably a little better than what they have now. Well, anything should entice the Bears to make an improvement at the position at any moment that they get the opportunity.
Trading a Hall of Fame pass rusher like Khalil Mack for a Hall of Fame quarterback is totally worth it. Pass rusher is the second most important position on the football field so it is no doubt a key to winning. With that said, the quarterback is the single most important position in all of the sports. Mack for Rodgers would be something that a lot of people have a hard time accepting but you don’t even know if Mack will end up playing all of his years with the Bears anyway.
If Mack left, their defense would still be very good. It might not be quite as dominant as it was in 2018 but the major improvement at the quarterback position would probably make the team better as a whole. There are plenty of great players there that could help in Mack’s absence like Akiem Hicks and Robert Quinn. If the Bears ever want to win the Super Bowl, they might have to weaken a strength to address a weakness.
