The Chicago Bears have had a below-average quarterback for a long time. Would an aging Aaron Rodgers ever play for them late in his career?

The Chicago Bears have had a cold hard reality when it comes to their history with the hated Green Bay Packers. Well, the Packers made a very interesting draft choice a week ago when they selected quarterback, Jordan Love, from Utah State University. That seems like a real insult to their franchise quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. He has been a top-ten quarterback who ever lived but the Packers felt the need to add his potential replacement anyway.

ESPN’s Tony Kornheiser has gone on his show, Pardon the Interruption, multiple times, and ripped this pick made by the Green Bay Packers. He even said that Aaron Rodgers should request a trade. His co-host, Chicago native Mike Wilbon, said that he could see him playing for the Chicago Bears someday. That really would be something for Rodgers and the Bears if he ever came to Chicago.

Rodgers and the Packers have tormented the Chicago Bears ever since he became a full-time starter in the National Football League. Rodgers is 36 years old and he won’t turn 37 until December. He has anywhere from four to five years left in the NFL, one would think. It is hard to see Love sitting as a backup for that long, especially in today’s NFL.

For that reason, Rodgers probably should request a trade. Aaron Rodgers has absolutely dominated the Bears in his career. In 23 games played, he is 18-5 against Chicago. That is incredible as he barely ever loses to them at all. Imagine if the Bears ever scooped him up late in his career. That would be good because they would have an improvement at the position and he wouldn’t be playing against them anymore.

As ridiculous as it sounds, it isn’t completely out of the question. Remember the time that Brett Favre went to the division rival Minnesota Vikings? Anything is possible, especially since Aaron Rodgers can opt-out of his deal in two years which is right when Love should be ready to take over. If Rodgers wanted to get revenge on the Green Bay Packers for doing that to him late in his career for all he has done to them, coming to the Bears would be the perfect way to do it.

Would it be historically on par for the Chicago Bears to bring in a Hall of Fame quarterback at 38 years old? Of course, it would but this time it might be worth it. Chances are, the Bears wouldn’t have a better option by that point anyway so it wouldn’t hurt. As far fetched as it may be, it is fun to think about.
