Pete Hassen

Pete Hassen has been with the Chicago Blackhawks for a long time. 15 years, to be exact. This was his fourth season as the Vice President of Marketing while before that he was the Senior Executive Director of Marketing. He has a lot of experience now with the team and he has an idea of how to assume the role that John McDonough leaves behind. He might be the most likely candidate on this list to get the gob.

It is well noted how many people around the organization love Pete. The players, coaches, and management group all love this guy so that fact alone makes him a good candidate. He is well known for being very different than John McDonough. He seems like a guy that might assume his role in a better manner. He might focus less on the hockey ops department which would make his choice for the general manager even more important.

Hot. Chicago finally beating Detroit in two sports. light

Who knows, maybe he will be involved in the hockey side of things as well but they still need to find a new general manager it seems. Hassen is good with the team’s marketing department. This team has had the “One Goal” slogan forever but it should surprise nobody if new management leads them down a different path now. They need to find someone who will bring something fresh to the table and Hassen might be the guy for the job.
