Chicago Bears: 6 QBs to watch for in the 2021 NFL Draft
Brock Purdy
We now get into the next group of three quarterbacks who are really intriguing and have skillsets that should get fans excited, starting with Iowa State’s Brock Purdy. Purdy is someone who has been identified as a sleeper who could skyrocket up draft boards next April.
Purdy is incredibly calm in the pocket, especially considering he played behind one of the worst offensive lines in the Big 12. He is already wise beyond his years, even though he was a true freshman just two seasons ago.

It’s critical, especially in a Matt Nagy style offense, to be able to quickly diagnose the defense and where the quarterbacks mismatches are. Purdy has shown an impressive ability to do just that while hanging in the pocket and going through his progressions. However, he has shown that he has more than enough athleticism to get outside the pocket and make plays with his feet when necessary.
While he is mature for his age, we must remember he is still young and inexperienced, and sometimes that shows. He must continue his development and demonstrate more consistency, but if he can do that, he has a legitimate shot to be a first-round prospect, and squarely on the Bears’ radar.
