2. Defensive Lineman Damon Harrison

This could be an interesting flip-flop, here. Over the first few days of free agency, we saw former Chicago Bears defensive lineman Nick Williams sign with the division rival Detroit Lions. Last year, Williams played some meaningful time in the absences of both Akiem Hicks and Bilal Nichols, and he filled in real well, having a career season.

The Bears could afford to add one more guy to their current rotation up front, and what better option left than Damon Harrison? Both Eddie Goldman, along with Hicks, are known for being top-tier run stuffers. Harrison has done just that since entering the NFL, formerly with the New York Giants and New York Jets as well.

Harrison is 31 years old and wouldn’t be counted on to start, but could provide Goldman with some valuable breathing time. At this stage, having Harrison on board would be a luxury — a luxury which would already start to haunt opposing offensive lines going up agains this Bears front.

The former undrafted free agent out of William Penn is one of the best, most notable players to go undrafted in the last decade. He’s gone on to be a massive success, earn multiple contracts and, on top of it all, boast one of the league’s best nicknames, “Snacks.”
