Do the Bears keep both picks?

This is, of course, the less popular opinion. But, with seeing so much talent fall to the second round, should the Bears actually entertain keeping both second-rounders? It’s a question worth asking.

Let’s just picture the Bears snagging two potential first-round type players with their second rounders. Pick two — your favorite two.

Got them in your head, yet? Good. Now, imagine how much better the Bears are as a football team with these two players.

If it’s me, I’m taking Jonathan Taylor at 43 if he’s there and then going with a guy like Jeremy Chinn at 50. Maybe you are more of a Trevon DIggs and Lloyd Cushenberry type of flavor.

Or, let’s say you want to get real flashy and go with a pairing like Dobbins and Hamler — really spark the offense. Hey, there are a lot of intriguing tandems with these two selections.

Either way, the Bears could get two Day 1 starters in a heartbeat, with these two picks.

No matter what Pace decides to do, I believe the value of his second-round picks has gone way up instantaneously after the first round, and it’s all thanks to other teams reaching on a few guys who could have fallen to the second or even third round, shockingly.

Let’s get this out of the way, though: It was a smart call for Pace to stay put and not risk trading into the first. Now, it’s up to him to get the best possible value out of his pair of picks on Day 2. Let’s see if he can work some magic tonight.
