4. S Grant Delpit, LSU

Another safety that many thought would be a surefire first-rounder, Grant Delpit being available makes things interesting for the Bears. He’s got all the skills in the world to be able to top tier safety yet his issues with tackling is something he’ll need to work on.

The best trait that Delpit brings to the table is aggressiveness. He’s always willing to make his presence felt by delivering big hits. Where he’ll make the most money at the next level is by having an impact in the running game.

Adding a guy like Delpit next to Eddie Jackson would allow for Jackson to return to his more natural position. Delpit is solid in coverage and has excellent range as well for a player of his size. When it comes to playing in coverage, he’s able to anticipate what the offense is going to attack him with.

Delpit is a player who’s going to step in on day one and have an immediate impact, one that most might not see. He’s not the type of player who’s going to be easily pushed around in contested catch situations either as he’ll hold his own down.
