Chicago Bears: Three things to watch in first round with no pick
Division Rivals
The Chicago Bears play in a very contentious and competitive division. None of the teams like each other very much and they all want to win really bad. The Chicago Bears need to keep an eye on the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, and Green Bay Packers. The Packers won the division last year but they have some issues. It is going to be interesting to see what they do in this draft.
The Minnesota Vikings have a pretty good team but they are always looking to improve their chances to win the division. They have pick numbers 22 and 25 in the first round this year. Pick 25 is their own while pick 22 was given to them by the Buffalo Bills in a trade that sent Stefon Diggs to western New York.
The Green Bay Packers have one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the NFL on their team. It probably annoys them that they only have one Super Bowl to show for it. They had a deep run in 2019-20 which means that their first-round selection is late. The 30th overall pick belongs to them and they should be able to get a good player with it.
The Detroit Lions had a tough year in 2019. They were one of the worst teams in the NFL which as a result, they have a chance to be one of the more improved teams thanks to the draft. They have the third overall pick in this year’s draft so they will be adding an elite player. Will they draft Tua Tagovailoa of Alabama? Jeff Okudah, a cornerback from Ohio State, is their likely target if they don’t trade the pick. They traded Darius Slay to the Philadelphia Eagles so that position might be the one they are looking to fill in.
