Round Seven, Pick 233: RB Darius Anderson, TCU

Let’s face the facts: While David Montgomery is the future of the running back position for the Bears, adding a running back is something that the Bears need to consider. Tarik Cohen is going into a contract year and might not be back with the team when the 2021 season rolls around. And Ryan Nall, hasn’t done enough to prove he can be a competent backup.

That’s why a guy like Darius Anderson makes sense. He’s got little wear and tear, considering he rushed for just 2418 rushing yards over a four-year period in college to go along with 18 rushing touchdowns.

Anderson possesses the ability to have an impact in the receiving game. Although he’s likely going to thrive by running wheel or arrow routes, he can still be a threat in space. His vision also sticks out as it seems like he’s quickly reading the defense and then making a quick decision as to what direction he’s going to run in.

Some may not want to invest in a running back but Anderson makes a lot of sense. He’s not going to steal the starting job from Montgomery but he can at least take the pressure off him in certain situations and be a third-down running back.
