Chicago Bears: 5 bold predictions for 2020 NFL Draft
By Ryan Heckman
2. The Bears trade back twice
We all want the Bears to trade back. I’m sure at least the majority of fans are eager to see Pace do so. So, first of all, the Bears could choose to trade into the later second round with one of their first two picks.
I think it’s more likely they trade no. 50 than they do no. 43. If they trade no. 50 and move back a couple of spots, they could also recoup a fourth-round pick in the process.
From there, they could deal that later second-round pick for something like a pair of third rounders, or a high third and high fourth. Then, they’d have a nice initial crop that looks like this:
2nd Round
3rd Round
3rd Round/4th Round
4th Round
At that point, the Bears will have had four picks in the first four rounds before they go into their final five picks — one in the fifth and two in both the sixth and seventh.
If Pace can pull that off, the Bears are going to come away with nine total picks — that would be impressive.
