Trade No. 3

The last package goes back to Howard, but this time, it involves a player from the Bears: Running back Tarik Cohen.

The Bears have to find themselves a better back to share the back field with David Montgomery. While the second-year pro will get the majority of carries, Chicago still needs to find an upgrade for when Montgomery needs a breather. Cohen could use a change of scenery, I believe.

In this instance, I have Cohen going to Tampa Bay along with a 2020 fifth-round pick. In exchange, the Bears get Howard and a sixth-round pick this year.

We know how much Brady loves to throw the ball to his running backs. Just look at what James White has done over his career with Brady and the Patriots: Not counting his rookie year where he hardly played, White has totaled 315 receptions for nearly 2,800 yards and 24 touchdowns. That’s all through the air, folks.

Imagine how much Brady could get out of Cohen if he were to become a Buc. I know it would hurt watching Cohen potentially rip it up with a new team, but if anybody can get the most out of him, it’s Brady with the help of a savvy coach like Arians. Cohen is still a dynamic player, don’t forget that. I think the value is fair, considering the new circumstances following the Bucs landing Gronk.

Again, the Bears could easily replace Cohen with a more all-around running back to compliment Montgomery. Cohen has not been what he once was on offense or special teams, and I think he’d thrive in an environment like Tampa Bay.
