Round 3 Target: Kyle Dugger, S, Lenoir Rhyne

There has been a ton of hype surrounding Kyle Dugger throughout the 2020 NFL Draft process and he could easily end up going in the second round. That being said, Dugger played at the Division II level in college so I would not be surprised if he is a bit further down team’s boards that we expect. Late-second/early-third feels like the right range for Dugger.

The Bears obviously do not have a third-round selection at the moment, but if they end up trading down from one (or both) of their second-round selections, they could easily end up with a pick (or two) in the third round. If Chicago passes on safety in the second round and ends up with an early third-round selection, Dugger will likely be squarely on their radar.

Dugger is a fantastic athlete at the safety position, showing impressive speed, quickness and explosiveness on the field. He is also a tough player who can come up and make plays against the run and shows fantastic natural ball skills on the back-end. Dugger may need a year to get acclimated to the NFL game, but this guy is a playmaker at the safety position who has tremendous long-term upside.

I would rather have Winfield, but trading down and snagging Dugger would be a great consolation prize.
