Round 1 Target: Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU

The Bears do not currently have a first-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, but with Pace’s aggressive nature, do not count out a potential trade-up scenario for the team. I would not predict a trade into the first round by Chicago, but it certainly is not completely out of the realm of possibility.

If the Chicago Bears do trade up, a move for a cornerback would certainly make some sense. They signed Artie Burns as a free agent this offseason, but Burns is a mediocre option at best on the outside. Chicago would certainly benefit from finding a legitimate starting cornerback to pair with Kyle Fuller on the outside.

Both Jeffrey Okudah and C.J. Henderson will likely be well out of reach for the Chicago Bears, but I could see Kristian Fulton falling a bit and getting into their range. If Fulton ends up falling to the latter portion of the first round, do not be surprised if the Bears look to make a move.

Fulton is a quick and athletic cornerback prospect who shines in man coverage and shows impressive instincts in zone. He is physical at the line of scrimmage and shows strong overall ball skills. Fulton undoubtedly has shutdown cornerback upside at the next level and could come in and immediately be a strong starting option for the Bears. I do not think a trade into the first round is likely for Chicago, but if he slips a bit, Fulton would be a good target.
