Trade 2

The Chicago Bears drafted David Montgomery in the 3rd round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He was the first pick they made in the draft as they didn’t have their first or second-round picks. He had an okay rookie season but there was a lot left to be desired. A lot of it could have had to do with the bad offensive line and the play calling but we expected more from him. He still has a high ceiling as a running back but trading him for Fournette is a no brainer.

The Bears would be upgrading their running back in this trade but the Jaguars would be upgrading a draft pick. They would move a seventh-round pick for a fifth-round pick which would allow them to get a much more impactful player than they otherwise would have added. This is a trade that each team gets an upgrade in a different spot.

The fact that each team is moving an NFL roster player and a pick would make this trade an extra notable one across the football world. Obviously, anytime a player like Leonard Fournette is moved it is a big deal but this is definitely a trade that would be significant for both franchises because of it’s moving parts. The Bears would also benefit from not losing a draft pick entirely. It may be downgrading the pick but at least they would still have one and a much better running back.
