Trade 1

For some reason, the value of elite running backs has diminished over the past few seasons. It is an extremely important skill position but they seem to be a dime a dozen now.  Well, that should make you disgusted that the Bears don’t have one although they are a dime a dozen. They almost never go high in the draft anymore and if they do, the picks get criticized. A lot of it also might have to do with their longevity. The other skill positions see their best players play way longer.

That reason, along with the rumors saying he is on the market, should diminish Leonard Fournette’s value even further. He is an elite football player but the Bears could be able to get him for a future third-round pick. A third-round pick in the future is valuable to the Bears right now but if that is all it costs to get a player like Fournette, they should do it.

The Jaguars would be able to use that pick to help grow their football team as they retool over the next few seasons. They have a lot of problems right now and it appears that any draft picks they can acquire will be something they are interested in. At 25 years old, they can still move him for something as good as a third-round pick one for one. If they fail to move him now,  his value could diminish even more in the coming years. This trade would give both teams a little something that it needs.
