1. OT Austin Jackson, USC

Even after the signing of veteran Jason Spriggs, the Bears could add an offensive tackle but they need to avoid Austin Jackson. To start off, Jackson seems as if he’s raw and is still developing at the position. While the Bears do have Charles Leno Jr. to anchor down left tackle in 2020, the only true way to get better is by getting actual in-game reps.

Besides just being raw, another issue with Jackson is his lack of technique. This is something that he will need to fix at the next level and while offensive line coach Juan Castillo can help him with this, Jackson has another concern as well.

He needs to play with a nastier mindset if he wants to be a regular starter in the NFL. This is somewhat of a concern since he started two years while in college. Sometimes, it’s hard to coach nastiness into an offensive lineman but Jackson seems like he can be taught.

Overall, this is a player who’s got a few things to work on and likely won’t reach his full potential until his second or third season in the NFL. Can the Bears take a chance on him? Absolutely. But will there be better prospects who could have an immediate impact? Absolutely.
