Chicago Bears: Three trade packages for Odell Beckham Jr.
Trade 1
The original rumor of this trade started last week with the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings were rumored to be the main team working out a deal with the Cleveland Browns for him. The rumored trade was shut down by multiple sources on both sides but that doesn’t mean much. Of course, the teams are going to try and keep something like this a secret if it is for real so we might never truly know if it was being discussed or not.
The Vikings getting Beckham Jr. would be a disaster for the Bears. This division is a three-team race right now so them adding a stud receiver like that would be horrible. The rumored price that Minnesota was going to pay was a second-round pick and a fifth-round pick. The Bears should absolutely pay that type of price for an all-world receiver like OBJ.
The Bears offer would be more attractive than the Vikings offer because the picks would be better. The Bears had a worse record than the Vikings in 2019 so the draft picks are higher in every round. The Browns wouldn’t hesitate to make a big deal with any NFC team so that would work. It isn’t the same return that Cleveland gave for Beckham Jr. when they acquired him from the New York Giants but they will never get that back. It seems like the two sides want to part ways so that is handcuffing the Browns from getting a more fair return.
