5. David Njoku, Cleveland Browns

After an injury-ridden 2019 season, are the Cleveland Browns going to give up on David Njoku already? They sure made quite the move in that direction when they inked Austin Hooper to an expensive contract this offseason.

Sure, Njoku only caught five passes last season and missed the majority of the year. But, he is a fast, athletic and explosive player for his size. Still, I think he has the potential to be a top-5 tight end in the league if put in the right circumstance.

By circumstance, I mean a team which will use him. He looked like he was on his way after catching 56 passes for 639 yards and four touchdowns in his sophomore season. But, last year derailed any momentum he had. Then, the Browns went out and signed Hooper, which if I were a fan, I’d be hoping they’d deal Njoku sooner rather than later to keep whatever value he has.

A second-round pick would be a sufficient price to pay for Njoku, although I might prefer Howard if given the choice. Nonetheless, the Bears should call and check in on Njoku’s availability.
