Chicago Bears 2020 NFL Draft: Most likely players to drop to pick 43
By Ryan Heckman
Wide Receiver Brandon Aiyuk, Arizona State
Speaking of bolstering the offense, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk would be instant energy within the Bears’ unit. He would become a Day 1 starter on the outside opposite Allen Robinson, allowing Anthony Miller to stay comfortable in the slot.
Aiyuk has just about everything you want in a receiver. He has decent size at 6-feet tall and weighing around 205 pounds. He ran an unofficial 4.5 in his 40-yard dash, plus an impressive 40-inch vertical jump.
The word “playmaker” can be used to describe Aiyuk in a nutshell. He is a dynamic athlete with the ball in his hands and makes a lot of plays after the catch. He can beat single coverage pretty easily, but the only area he needs work on is in his physicality. He has to add some muscle in order to beat the more physical corners.
He only had one real strong year of production at Arizona State, but everything you see on tape is tough to ignore. He jumps off the screen as somebody you just have to have on your offense. Last year with the Sun Devils, he caught 65 passes for 1,192 yards and eight scores.
