Chicago Blackhawks: Three trade packages for Dylan Strome
Columbus Blue Jackets
The Columbus Blue Jackets proved everyone wrong in 2019-20. We don’t exactly know if it will get to end for them or know how far they would have taken it but they were definitely in the Eastern Conference playoff mix. They lost Artemi Panarin, Matt Duchene, Ryan Dzingel, and Sergei Bobrovsky which led to many people seeing them as a lottery team that needed a retool.
Well, they proved they were still good and should just keep going forward. Adding a centerman like Dylan Strome might prove to be awesome for them. They have Pierre-Luc Dubios as their top-line center and he is awesome but it thins out after him. Strome would be very good with some of the great wingers they have there in Columbus.
A fitting trade would be a bit of a blockbuster NHL trade. The Blackhawks could send Strome and a second-round pick to the Blue Jackets for Scott Harrington and Columbus’ first-round pick. The second-round pick that Chicago would send in this trade package initially belonged to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Vegas gave that Pittsburgh draft-pick to Chicago in the deal that sent Robin Lehner to Vegas. This would be a huge deal for Chicago and Columbus but these two franchises have made many multi-part moving trades over the years.
Strome’s name is not really out there in any real rumors but due to the nature of restricted free agents these days, it is certainly possible that the Blackhawks move on. Especially now since they have Kirby Dach in the mix. If the Hawks were to trade him, they should expect fair value for him like these proposed deals because he is a great player.
