4. S Kyle Dugger, Lenoir-Rhyne

A small university in North Carolina, Kyle Dugger has been one of the hottest topics of conversation throughout the predraft process. He’s from a division three school that not many people have heard of yet he’s competed on big stages like the Reese’s Senior Bowl.

There are three things that make Dugger such an intriguing prospect: Size, speed, and explosiveness. He’s also rangy and could end up being a box safety at the next level, which is exactly what the Bears need.

Now there are two issues associated with Dugger. First, he can focus a little too much on wide receivers which leads to him forgetting about the quarterback. And second, he dominated against division three competition and from past experience, we know that Ryan Pace doesn’t have a good track record when it comes to selecting division two and division three prospects.

While Dugger is an intriguing prospect, when the Bears are on the board at 43rd overall, there could be other safeties such as Jeremy Chinn, Antoine Winfield Jr. and Ashtyn Davis that are all more complete prospects than Dugger.
