Round 2, Pick 43: Jalen Reagor, TCU

There might not be a better fit for what type of wide receiver the Bears need than Jalen Reagor, taking the top three guys at the position out of the equation. With the Bears cutting ties with Taylor Gabriel, they need someone who is not only quick, but can be used in a variety of ways — an ideal Matt Nagy candidate.

Reagor may be a little overlooked in terms of those looking at first-round talent, based on his dip in production in 2019. But, overall, his skill set is a perfect fir with Chicago.

With the way the Bears’ quarterback situation stands right now, I think we can all agree that the more help they get around them, the quarterbacks will function at a higher level. Reagor is a receiver who excels with the ball in his hands.

He is an explosive athlete, period. That’s the best way to describe his skill set. Reagor can jump out of the gym and beat the majority of defensive backs in a foot race. Again, a pretty simple explanation of his athletic traits.

This kid takes the football and immediately searches for more yards. He’s so dangerous after the catch, which is something Bears quarterbacks will learn to appreciate about somebody like Anthony Miller. For his career, Reagor averages 15.2 yards per reception. Reagor’s recent workout showed an unofficial 40-yard dash time of 4.22 seconds — even if that’s off by a hair, that time is absolutely ridiculous.

At TCU, Reagor caught 148 passes for 2,248 yards and 22 touchdowns. By the way, he also carried the rock 35 times for 324 yards and a pair of scores — how about that for versatility?
