After the second round in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears do not pick again for about 100 selections. That pick has to be a home run.

What exactly will Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Pace decide to do in the upcoming 2020 NFL Draft? The Bears enter this year’s draft weekend with just a pair of picks in the first four rounds, with both of them coming in the second.

Pace is known for taking his risks and going out on a limb, so nothing would surprise me at this point. There have been reports of Pace doing his research in terms of moving into the first round, which might scare some fans — and justifiably so.

But, there are more realistic options like moving back. Pace could opt to use one of the team’s second rounders — either pick 43 or 50 — and scoop up additional capital in the third, fourth and fifth rounds, depending on the deal.

Whether or not the Bears trade back, they will likely have a selection in the fifth round. If they stand pat, they will go over 100 picks before their third selection which comes at 164 overall. If this is indeed their third pick of the draft, it has to count.

Pace has worked his magic before in the middle rounds, like when he found Eddie Jackson in the fourth round. He also found Tarik Cohen in the fourth and Jordan Howard in the fifth. Of course, you’d rather see Pace nail a fifth round pick and get closer to a Jackson than Cohen or Howard, and thankfully, there are some gems that could fall to him at that spot.

Let’s look at a few particular prospects who are currently being mocked in the middle rounds. These are all guys who could come in and become a valuable part of the team immediately.
