Adrian Griffin

Probably the most popular and realistic candidate that has ties to the position, is Adrian Griffin. First, there is the connection to Karnisovas. Griffin played his collegiate basketball at Seton Hall University from 1992-1996, overlapping with Karnisovas who played there from 1990-1994.

Both players went undrafted but went on to have lengthy professional careers in the NBA and Europe respectively. One of the NBA teams Griffin played for was the Chicago Bulls, from 2006-2008.

After his playing days were over, Griffin has gone on to have a lengthy career as a coach. He has served as an assistant coach since 2008 for five different teams, including a stint with the Bulls from 2010-2015. He currently serves as an assistant with the Toronto Raptors, who in recent years has been a model of success in both the front office and on the court.

Griffin appears more than ready to take on the role of head coach and lead a team, if in fact he wants it.  His recent experience on two successful staffs (Toronto and Oklahoma City) give him the pedigree, and his time with the Bulls gives him keen insight into how to succeed in the Windy City. Keep an eye on Griffin as a strong candidate moving forward.
