5. IOL Lloyd Cushenberry III, LSU

If the Bears miss out on Cesar Ruiz, then Lloyd Cusheberrry III would make an optimal replacement. Like Ruiz, Cushenberry would step in and be an immediate upgrade over what the Bears currently have at right guard.

On film, the biggest thing that sticks out about Cushenberry is his power. He’s one of the stronger interior offensive lineman in the 2020 NFL Draft class. In three seasons at LSU, Cushenberry started 39 total games proving that he’s ready to face the rigors of life in the trenches in the NFL.

Cushenberry did play center while in college and while most would think that this is his natural fit in the NFL, the Bears offensive line already has their center in place with Cody Whitehair. In the scenario that the Bears draft Cushenberry, it’d be best for him to play right guard from day one rather than the Bears shuffling the offensive line all over again.

Length is another thing that sticks out Cushenberry. He’s 6-foot-3 and weighs 312 pounds. These measurables make him an ideal fit anywhere on the interior offensive line in the NFL. If he’s there at 43rd overall, he could be one of the best value picks at that point in the draft and end up being one of the best draft picks of the Ryan Pace era.
