Chicago Bears: Five players to consider at 43rd overall
By Usayd Koshul
1. WR Brandon Aiyuk, Arizona State
Most would consider taking a wide receiver at 43rd overall as a bit of a luxury pick, particularly because the Bears have Allen Robinson and Anthony Miller on the roster. However, what the team lacks is a consistent deep threat but Brandon Aiyuk can help fill that void.
On film, Aiyuk jumps off the screen right away. There are three things that stick out about his game: Speed, ability to create yards after the catch, and taking the top off a defense. Mix all that together and you’ve got yourself a playmaking machine that can help spark any NFL offense.
Over a two-year period at Arizona State, Aiyuk averaged 17 yards per reception, 1666 yards, and eight touchdowns, proving that when an offense needs a reliable playmaker, he’s willing to step up and make plays.
Overall, Aiyuk is a perfect fit in the Bears offense. However, whether he’ll truly be available at 43rd overall is hard to tell. If available, the Bears need to pull the trigger without thinking twice.
However, speed is becoming more and more of a valued commodity in the NFL today, meaning that teams like the Indianapolis Colts, Carolina Panthers, and Los Angeles Chargers, all of whom pick in the second-round before the Bears could snag Aiyuk.
