Wide Receiver Denzel Mims, Baylor

This year’s receiving class is absolutely outstanding, and at times, it’s hard to separate anyone not named CeeDee Lamb, Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs. But, when you get past those three, you could very well put Denzel Mims at number four. In fact, there are some folks out there who have him as a top-3 prospect in the class, and I can’t be mad at them for it.

Most believe he won’t be there when the Bears are first on the clock at pick 43, but if he falls, he’s someone Ryan Pace cannot pass on.

You’re looking at a 6-foot-3 wide receiver who has the build as a true number one wideout, runs a 4.38 second 40-yard dash and can jump out of the gym.

Simple athleticism doesn’t impress you? That’s fine. How about two 1,000-yard seasons in college? 12 touchdowns last year? The ability to go up and high-point the football in tight coverage?

This guy’s catch radius is out of this world. He creates separation easier than most with his long strides. Can you imagine placing him in an offense with Allen Robinson, as well? It would be a dream scenario for whomever the starting quarterback ends up being.
