Chicago Bears: Scary draft prospects for each NFC North rival
By Ryan Heckman
The Minnesota Vikings would be scary with…
Wide Receiver Denzel Mims, Baylor
It is no secret that the Vikings need a receiver badly after trading Stefon Diggs to the Buffalo Bills. If Denzel Mims is available when they’re on the clock in Round 1, do not be surprised if he ends up a Viking. He’s got the making of a legitimate number one guy, which would still allow Adam Thielen to do his thing as the possession receiver.
Cornerback Kristian Fulton, LSU
The Vikings are hurting big time at cornerback after seeing Trae Waynes and Mackensie Alexander leave via free agency. Obviously, they cut Xavier Rhodes as well. Kristian Fulton played on arguably the best defense in college football last season, and grabbing a starting corner from that National Championship team would be a huge win for Minnesota.
Wide Receiver Laviska Shenault, Colorado
Another potential big-bodied no. 1 receiver for Minnesota is Laviska Shenault out of Colorado. He would step right into Diggs’ old role and give the Vikings what they are currently lacking in the receiver room.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts, Oklahoma
This is where it gets interesting. Sure, they extended Kirk Cousins for a couple of years. But, drafting Jalen Hurts to sit for a year or two and then pairing him with a back like Dalvin Cook would be a potentially lethal offense.
