Chicago Bears NFL Draft: 5 trades worth making to move up
By Ryan Heckman
2. Trade into early 4th for QB Anthony Gordon
At one point, the Bears had a fourth-round pick, which of course they ultimately traded to land Nick Foles. However, a later fourth-round selection probably wouldn’t have been good enough to land another particular quarterback.
Washington State’s Anthony Gordon has been a riser over the last couple of months, but we have been banging the table for him since early November. As someone who could come in and sit behind a guy like Foles, Gordon presents tons of upside as a future starter in this league.
Trade Example: Bears send Tarik Cohen to the Jacksonville Jaguars for pick no. 116

This is just one idea, but I believe the Bears should trade Cohen. If not, they could probably do something like package this year’s fifth-rounder and a future fourth-round pick for Jacksonville’s selection at 116 overall. If Pace can swing it, maybe the Jaguars throw in a seventh-round pick next year as well.
Gordon has a killer arm and can make every throw in the book, but his mobility needs a little work. He has some room to grow physically, as he could pack on some muscle.
The best thing about Gordon, though, is his ability to go through all of his reads. He’s a smart football player. He is patient and waits for the right decision. It doesn’t hurt that he threw for 5,579 yards and 48 touchdowns last year, either.
