Trade No. 3

This last deal would simply be out of necessity. I have to believe Pace would love to stockpile some picks for this draft, especially with some big needs still on the roster — I.e. offensive line, wide receiver, cornerback, safety and tight end.

If the Bucs saw a player they really wanted fall to the second round, and it approached pick no. 43, I would think the Bears are a perfect trade partner. The Bears should jump at a chance to move back and acquire picks in the third or fourth rounds.

In total, the Bears trade pick no. 43 for three Bucs selections: Numbers 76, 117 and 195.

I know there will be valuable players there in the second round, which makes having pick no. 50 a positive thing still. But, in the third and fourth rounds, the Bears could be looking at adding guys like Washington State quarterback Anthony Gordon or tight ends Brycen Hopkins and Hunter Bryant.

Let’s say they land both Gordon and one of those tight ends in the third and fourth rounds, respectively. Moving back would be well-worth it then, at that point. Pace is known for dealing with picks on draft day, so let’s hold out some hope he can find a way to trade back.
