Chicago Bears NFL Draft: James Morgan is built for the Bears

The more you learn about James Morgan, the more you realize he’d be a perfect fit for the Chicago Bears.

Fourteen. That is the number of quarterbacks who have started a game for the Chicago Bears since 2006. In case you’re not a math whiz, that works out to an average of one quarterback per year. During that stretch, Bears fans witnessed names like Todd Collins, Jason Campbell, Jimmy Clausen, Caleb Hanie, and Matt Barkley start at least one game.

But forget all those names for a second and just focus on one — James Morgan — the man who could end the team’s drought at the most important position in all of professional sports. While Morgan has all the tools to do just that (and we’ll get to those in a minute) let’s first examine just how serendipitous it would be for him to solve the team’s unending quarterback dilemma.

As you might have guessed, he grew up a fan of Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers, whose respective games you can see sprinkled throughout Morgan’s. There are even plays, like this one, that seem like the perfect amalgam of Rodgers creativity and Favre’s rocket-arm.

It would be quite the story if a kid from Wisconsin, who grew up playing in the shadows of the Lambeau Field, was the one to give Chicago what its biggest rivals to the north have had for decades — a franchise quarterback. However, Morgan is not just an incredible storyline. He’s got the goods too.
