Chicago Bears NFL Draft: 5 must-see full mock drafts
By Ryan Heckman
Mock Draft 3 — Practicality
Like the previous mock, this one gives the Bears depth at a lot of different positions. But, at the top, it’s all about practicality. To be able to add two starters in the second and another potential future starter in the fifth would be a big victory for Pace.
Round 2, pick 43: WR Denzel Mims, Baylor
Round 2, pick 50: OL Matt Hennessy, Temple
Round 5, pick 163: TE Harrison Bryant, Florida Atlantic
Round 6, pick 196: CB Nevelle Clarke, UCF
Round 6, pick 200: EDGE Michael Divinity Jr., LSU
Round 7, pick 226: RB Darius Anderson, TCU
Round 7, pick 233: OT Calvin Throckmorton, Oregon

To begin with, I highly doubt Denzel Mims is there at pick number 43. However, there are a lot of talented players who will fall to the Bears. The math tells us that. If Mims is one of those guys, the Bears should snatch him up quickly. Mims’ total package at the receiver position would look scary with Robinson across from him.
Obviously, we just talked about Hennessy previously, and I like him as arguably the consensus best offensive lineman available at pick 50.
Then, we get to the fifth round where the Bears could find a sleeper at tight end. Harrison Bryant played for the smaller Florida Atlantic, but adding him to the mix and being mentored by the veteran Jimmy Graham would be an ideal situation for him.
I’ll mention that I like Michael Divinity Jr. as a worthy risk. With the red flags that he comes with, Divinity could also flourish with the right leadership. Hopefully, he is able to put his past behind him and become a strong rotational pass rusher.
