Chicago Bears NFL Draft: 5 must-see full mock drafts
By Ryan Heckman
Mock Draft 1 — Playmaker Central
This first one is all about being unable to pass on top-tier playmaking talent. If the Bears see Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor on the board at pick no. 43, it is going to be borderline impossible to pass on a talent like that.
Round 2, pick 43: RB Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin
Round 2, pick 50: WR KJ Hamler, Penn State
Round 5, pick 163: OT Justin Herron, Wake Forest
Round 6, pick 196: CB Lamar Jackson, Nebraska
Round 6, pick 200: OL Darryl Williams, Mississippi State
Round 7, pick 226: CB A.J. Green, Oklahoma State
Round 7, pick 233: S Myles Dorn, North Carolina
There is a justifiable concern in taking a running back in the second round. I get that. But, being able to add the best running back in the draft (in my opinion) to this offense is a tantalizing idea.
Then, Chicago adds another electric playmaker in KJ Hamler. The offense will be an explosion waiting to happen. Later on, they address offensive line, and hopefully competition breeds a strong starting line.
Adding three defensive backs to the fold is a big win, as well, and all three have a lot to like as late-round picks.
The big takeaway, here, is that the offense now has plenty of weapons and will have added two guys who can take it to the house on any given play — that could be special.
