The Chicago Bears made one of the biggest trades the NFL has seen in a long time when they acquired Khalil Mack from the Oakland Raiders in 2018.

The Chicago Bears have had their share of mistakes over the past few seasons but they have also had their fair share of triumphs. One of those triumphs is the trade they made with the Oakland Raiders. They sent draft picks to them for Khalil Mack. He was looking for a new contract that the Raiders were just simply not looking to give away at that point in time.

Now, they are known as the Las Vegas Raiders as we evaluate the trade two years later. Mack is still one of the five best defensive players in the NFL, but the Bears had a down year in 2019.

Well, it was a bad year based on their preseason Super Bowl expectations. They went 8-8 but we all know why they failed to meet their expectations. The defense was awesome, but the offense was so inept that they weren’t able to take advantage.

There are some conversations online right now about if the Bears would make that trade today. The answer should still be an absolute yes.

By no means did the Bears fleece the Raiders. Sure, they didn’t want Mack anymore and they got a big haul from the Bears in return. The Bears, however, got the best player in the trade in the middle of his prime.

If anyone thinks that the Bears should regret the trade, they probably feel that they don’t have a chance at the playoffs. These are the three biggest reasons that it was a smart trade and why they would still make it today.
