The Chicago Bears trade down and find more value in this seven-round 2020 NFL mock draft.

The Chicago Bears have already made some interesting moves this offseason, most notably signing edge rusher Robert Quinn to a major free-agent deal and trading for quarterback Nick Foles. Quinn should be able to come in and immediately be a game-changer for the Bears on the defensive side of the ball, but the acquisition of Foles is even more compelling.

Foles has been a low-level starting-caliber/high-level backup quarterback option throughout most of his career. The obvious exception being in 2017 when he took over for an injured Carson Wentz and led the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl championship. Foles has proven that he can lead a team to the promised land, but it is not like he has been a high-level quarterback on a consistent basis.

Giving up a fourth-round selection for Foles and his big contract was considered an overpay by most. However, the Bears clearly believe in Foles and his ability to lead this team. General manager Ryan Pace and the front office were already short on 2020 NFL Draft capital, giving up that fourth-round selection significantly hurts their ability to improve through the draft.

Personally, I think trade signals the beginning of the end of Mitchell Trubisky in Chicago and Foles will start most of the games for the Bears in 2020. While it now seems unlikely that the Bears take anything more than a flyer at the quarterback position in the 2020 NFL Draft, they still have plenty of needs to address on both sides of the ball and not much draft capital to work with.

In this seven-round mock draft scenario, we try to make the most out of the draft capital that the Chicago Bears have and find them potential playmakers at important positions of need in the upcoming draft.
