Chicago Blackhawks: Five players who were great this year
Jonathan Toews is right there with Patrick Kane when you name the best players in Chicago Blackhawks history. He was the captain of three teams that won the Stanley Cup in a span of six years. He has been a brilliant two way center for a very long time. The 2019-20 season has been no exception for Toews. He has been the second-best player on this team and he is only second because of Kane’s brilliance.
Toews didn’t have as consistent of linemates as he did in 2018-19 but he still managed to have a really good year offensively. Of course, his two-way game was phenomenal as he had a 50.5 CorsiFor on a team that was catastrophically bad defensively. He then scored 18 goals and had 42 assists for 60 points. He might have had even more goals if he had a more consistent playmaker on his line but he was doing a lot of the passing this year.
One thing about Toews that will never go away is his will to win. Combine that with his incredible skills and you have an amazing hockey player. He wears the captain C on his sweater for a reason and he continues to show that each and every year.
