Chicago Blackhawks: Five players to trade this summer
The Chicago Blackhawks should have never traded Brandon Saad away the first time around. They didn’t want to pay him what he was worth and it came back to bite them many years later. They re-acquired him in what might be the worst trade in Chicago Blackhawks history. They gave the Columbus Blue Jackets Artemi Panarin to get Saad back.
Brandon Saad is a great player but Artemi Panarin is an MVP caliber superstar. The Blackhawks could have had both players for a short period of time to prolong their championship window. Instead, that window was cut short and Panarin is gone for good. Saad’s time in Chicago might be up once again but that would simply because this team needs to move forward.
The glory days are likely in the past so they are getting towards the point where they need to retool the organization. There are teams out there who could really use a wing that is good for anywhere from 20-30 goals. Saad is a very good power forward that can help any team win. He also only has one year left on his deal so that the team would have to look at locking him up longer if they like what they see. If the right package for him is offered this summer, the Blackhawks should definitely take it.
