Chicago Bears: Quarterback moves to make after Nick Foles trade
By Ryan Heckman
Move No. 1
Trade Mitchell Trubisky
There has been no reliable source yet to the rumor that the Bears had been shopping Mitchell Trubisky, but the whispers bring up a great point. The Bears are loading up for a run, and the Robert Quinn signing is indicative of such an idea.
This team has plenty of talent to win right now, and the quarterback position has been the one main hindrance, whether you want to admit that or not. Now with Foles on board, he gives the Bears someone who could become their full-time starter for 2020, making Trubisky expendable if they were to go out and get a different backup — or should they have other ideas in mind.
We’ll get to those other ideas in a minute.
But, what is Trubisky worth? As many on NFL Network have recently pointed out when recapping the Foles trade, Trubisky hasn’t done much up to this point. So, what’s he worth?
I would be more than comfortable if the Bears were able to shop Trubisky and land a fourth or fifth-round pick. That may seem absurd for a former no. 2 overall pick, but in my opinion, it’s time to move on. Cut ties altogether and move forward with the team in place.
Now, back to those other ideas the Bears could have in mind.
