3. Character and leadership are obvious

The one thing every single player and coach will tell you about Foles is that he is an incredible person. Foles is a man of character, integrity and is a great leader. If nothing else, that type of player is always welcome in the Bears locker room as far as I’m concerned.

I understand I’m not the general manager, but I can see why Pace would bring in a veteran like Foles from that regard.

Foles has made his way around to a couple of teams. His job has never been a guarantee. Even last year when Minshew came out of nowhere, and was ultimately benched for Foles only to come back later and become the starter again, both quarterbacks remained positive.

Both Minshew and Foles are similar in character. Through the quarterback shuffling in Jacksonville last year, Minshew spoke highly of Foles and called him a great teammate.

"“We love working together … He’s a good guy, through and through, and it’s not circumstantial.”"

Even though Foles could ultimately replace Trubisky, I have to believe he comes in and supports Mitch no matter what. I am sure Foles’ support and confidence in Minshew helped the rookie immensely last year, and if Foles can have the same impact on Trubisky, who says that’s a bad thing?

Having a person like Foles there to help support Trubisky might be the last ditch effort to see the former no. 2 pick turn into the guy Pace though he could be.
