Chicago Sports: Five greatest moments since 1990
Chicago Bulls win the NBA title for the first time
The Chicago sports span of fun started with the Chicago Bulls in the 90s. They won the NBA title a grand total of six times during the 1990s decade. It was an incredible dynasty that won the six rings in a span of seven years. It was led by the NBA’s all-time greatest player, Michael Jordan. It was also a run that saw some other great players help him like Scottie Pippin and Dennis Rodman.
The first of the six titles have to go down as one of the greatest moments in Chicago sports history. It was the first time that an NBA Championship had ever come through Chicago. Every other sport had it’s title come through before the 1990 cutoff. It surely meant a lot to those who watched it and those who were a part of it. Michael Jordan had been in the league for a few years by then, but it was the start of what made him into one of the greatest athletes to ever live.
The head coach of that Bulls team was the legendary Phil Jackson. He is now considered one of the greatest coaches in the history of Chicago sports. That is because he was there for the first championship and then guided them to five more after it. The first championship in 1991 will always be considered one of the best moments in the history of not only Chicago sports, but the NBA in general.
