QB. Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jameis Winston. 2. player. 48.

Jameis Winston is the most confusing quarterback in the NFL. There are times where he looks like he has superstar talent and other times where he looks like he doesn’t belong in the NFL at all. He has the arm talent that earned him the number one overall selection in the 2015 NFL Draft after a sensational tenure at Florida State University. The production in the NFL just hasn’t been quite up to those expectations.

The Bears taking a chance on Winston might be a good idea. He went 7-9 in 2019. That is one win less than the 8-8 Bears who have a much superior roster than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He gets a lot of hate because while throwing 33 touchdown passes he also threw 30 interceptions. Those 33 touchdown passes do not grow on trees, but the 30 interceptions are a number that absolutely needs to come down.

The Bears have a strong defense but not many defenses can handle the pressure of a quarterback turning the ball over that many times. They might, however, benefit greatly from a guy who is capable of putting up that many points via the touchdown. Winston, despite his issues, is going to get a chance with some team in the NFL.
