player. 35. . QB. Tennessee Titans. Marcus Mariota. 3

Marcus Mariota is one of those guys looking for another chance. He was the second overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft after a glorious tenure at the University of Oregon. He didn’t live up to his draft status as things never really panned out with the Tennessee Titans. He was benched in favor of Ryan Tannehill in 2019 and he led them on a Cinderella run in the playoffs. They even gave the eventual Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs a run for their money in the playoffs.

Mariota is now looking for a new home in the NFL. He isn’t the best option available to the Bears right now but he would be an upgrade over Mitchell Trubisky. He went 2-4 with the Titans before being benched for Tannehill. The thing is that Tannehill was in the same position a year prior that Mariota is in now. He was looking like a career backup after failing to reach expectations with the Miami Dolphins.

If Mariota can get his opportunity, he could possibly have a similar story. He is never going to be the superstar that many thought he might be when he was in college, but he could very well flip a switch that helps him lead a team to the playoffs. You never know and the Bears need to do whatever it takes to try and better their offense.
