4. CB Brian Poole

The Bears cornerback situation isn’t the worst in the NFL but it’s certainly not the best either. After Kyler Fuller and Buster Skrine, the Bears have Kevin Toliver, Tre Roberson, and Duke Shelley. That’s why adding someone like Brian Poole could make sense this offseason.

Poole, who’s just 27 years old is the perfect kind of value singing that the Bears need to make in free agency in order to shore up the cornerback position. He’s played both on the outside and in the slot as well.

Besides just his age and his experience playing various positions, another aspect of Poole’s that he brings to the table is his ability to blitz. Keep in mind that this is something that the Bears had guys like Eddie Jackson and Buster Skrine do in 2019 at various times.

While Poole could very likely be on his third NFL team in five seasons after he signs with a new team during free agency, his price should be reasonable meaning it could be anywhere around three or four-million dollars a year with at least half the money guaranteed.

Overall, Poole is the perfect kind of value singing that the Bears need to make. He’d essentially be a low-risk, high-reward type of player that could end up paying massive dividends if defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano can use him correctly.
